Meningitis means inflammation of the meninges, the membranes
of the spinal cord and the brain that cover the brain. It is caused due to the
bacteria or viruses. There is also caused by protozoa, fungi, other parasites
etc.
Causes of meningitis
It caused by bacteria such as streptococcus pneumonia. It
introduce the blood stream and transfer to the spinal cord and brain. It can
directly attacks the meninges. And caused sinus or ear infection, skull
fractures etc
Neisseria meningitides- It caused meningococcal meningitis. It
is highly contagious. It is more common between teen agers and young adults.
