Bangladesh is the third largest population in South Asia
after India and Pakistan. Bangladesh’s fifth population census were released in
july 2011. At present the population rate of Bangladesh is 142.3 million people
and that is double more than 10 years ago. In per square kilometer about 834 to
964 peoples live in Bangladesh. The government should provide enough health
care service. The population has increased in urban areas. In urban area about
one third of people live in Bangladesh. At the current growth rate, the total
population will balloon to 230 milion in the 2040 year. About 53% people live
in urban areas. In the past 10 years, the population growth was over and we should maintained these trends by family
planning programs. We should monitoring and implementation about the success of
the country’s population control programs.
The united health care service also provide to the urban poor people. At present
4.4 persons per family and in the 1991 5.5 , in
2001 was 4.8. In 1981 the average Bangladesh household size was 5.5 and
now it’s rate is 2.15. The catastrophic effects of a rapidly increasing
population against food production rate that is slower than the population
growth rate. In 2009 Bangladeshi government drafted a population policy and introduce the concept of a single -child family planning of the year of 2015. In Bangladesh 42% of married women don not use any contraception. In Dhaka city the population density ofper square kilometer is 18,055 people. We should improve access to family planning services for urban poor peoples. The Urban primary Health care project(UPHCP)would not provide healthcare services to the urban poor people properly. They did not work as door to door family planning services. There is two popular family planning slogans that Two is good enough- boy or girl and One child is good, but no more than two. The government should awareness camigns and improvement of information and contraception. The government should improvement of status of women. The government should concern and alert to the poor urban women about their legal rights and proper education. If the young women get proper education and knowledge about family planning then these campaigns will be success . so the government and everyone’s duty about the population growth control to the poor urban peoples.
