It is a type of bacterial infection and
in the small bowel that cause dehydration and diarrhea.In the world seven types
of cholera is available. During the period of flood and war the cholera is
productive and poor hygiene leads to infect humans.The availability of clean
water is reducing in that time. In asia, the middle East, Africa and south and
Central America cholera ocuurs continuesly. It is transmitted by water, human
feces, raw food, shellfish and undercooked seafood.
Symptoms of cholera
Watery
diarrhea may mild, moderate, severity. If it is not treated properly it can be
life- threatening. Accompanied with vomiting. Dehydration and spread of the
infection occur.Rapid heart rate, dry mucous membranes, such as mouth, nose,
throat, eyelids, loss of elasticity, thirst, muscle cramps, low blood pressure.
Death may occur due to dehydration and shock. Watery symptoms appear after 1-3
days infection occur.
Treatment
and prevention
The cholera
vaccine CDC but World Health Organization don’t recommend it. It lasts a few
moths only. Peoples can protect himself and when water is boiled then it is
chemically disinfected.
Should uses
disinfected water for preparing food or drinks,
brushing your teeth, making ice, washing dishes and utensils, washing
fruits and vegetables. Tea and coffee should made with boiled water, should
avoid drinks and foods from street vendors.
Treatment
First
treatment is the replace the lost fluids and electrolytes in the body, oral
rehydration is given that is WHO recommended. Oral rehydration solution or a
mixture of sugar and salt in water should given to the patient.
Following
remedies are uses for the treatment of cholera.
Aconitum
Napellus, Camphora, Arsenicum Album,
carbo, Cantharis, Ipecacuanha, veratrum album, vegetabilis, Cuprum, secale,
podophyllum etc.
